Stand Tall, Molly Lou Melon (By Patty Lovell) – Molly Lou Melon is very short with buck teeth. She is often clumsy and has a strange voice. But her grandma advises her to walk proudly, smile big and believe in herself. So Molly Lou Melon does just that. And when Molly has to move to a new town and start at a new school, she remembers her grandma’s wise advice. That advice helps her to make new friends and stand tall, even when faced with a school bully. At the end of the book, Molly Lou Melon writes to her grandma to let her know that all of her advice was right. And that is when the reader finds out that her grandma looks a lot like Molly Lou Melon and must have faced the same challenges growing up.
